I've been watching the flowers in my garden for a long time, especially the one called Four o'clock flower, or Belle de nuit, the yellow ones, which bloom at night. I wanted to draw this late afertnoon and stormy weather where everything is dark and purple exept for these flashy yellow blossoming flowers.
